Buddy's theft, as reported on Hoodline, occurred in the early hours of July 7th, 2023. The heartbroken owner, who wishes to remain unidentified, is still in shock and exclaims, "I don't understand why people would do something like that. I can't make sense of it all." The therapy dog's abduction has left the local community devastated, but it hasn't deterred them from continuing their fight for Buddy's safe return home.
The San Rafael Police Department has urged the public to report any information that may lead to Buddy's whereabouts or the identification of the two women involved. Buddy is described as a Cavalier Poodle mix, weighing 12 lbs, with white curly hair and brown spots, last seen wearing a green collar at 1000 Fourth Street.
It's worth noting that this tragedy shares an unfortunate resemblance with the recent smash-and-grab theft of a French bulldog named Boba in Oakland, as mentioned by Hoodline. In Boba's case, a flurry of tears and relief were shed when she was found abandoned at a dog park weeks later by a good samaritan.
