With the highly anticipated Outside Lands music festival set to take place in San Francisco from August 11-13, 2023, both BART and the MUNI have announced plans to enhance their services to help concertgoers avoid parking hassles and make their way to the event more conveniently, because who wants to worry about transportation when there's a great lineup of music to enjoy, right?

According to a series of tweets from BART, they are encouraging festivalgoers to utilize the BART and Muni public transit services to travel to and from the festival. BART has published a helpful resource that provides directions on how to take transit to the Outside Lands festival, including which routes to utilize, and reminding travellers to load up their Clipper cards in advance to pay fare for both BART and Muni services.

In addition, BART's official Twitter account shared a notice from Muni stating that extra N Judah train services would be in operation from 3pm to midnight throughout the festival weekend. Notably, pre-festival 5R bus services will run from Montgomery Station to 30th Ave. (from 2-8pm) every day, and post-festival 5X bus services will carry attendees from Fulton/30th Ave. to the Civic Center Station, which is from 9 to 11 pm.

The pre-event extra services include 5R buses from Montgomery BART station to the Richmond area (2-8 pm), along with pre- and post-event extra services on the N Judah line from 3 pm to midnight. BART recently shared a few promising updates, stating that their Customer-On-Time Performance has improved by 12% between January-March 2023 and April-June 2023, going from 79% to 91%. Furthermore, the timed transfer meets have improved by a significant 27% within the same period, reaching an impressive 80%.
