When Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's Renaissance World Tour made its grand stop at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara today, the city took this historical moment to heart. In celebration of her visit, Beyoncé was named honorary Mayor for the evening by the Santa Clara City Council and was awarded the Key to the City, as announced on the City of Santa Clara's official Twitter account. Her longtime publicist, Dr. Yvette Noel-Schure, accepted the honor on her behalf.

According to ABC7 News, not only are fans and concertgoers eagerly anticipating the show, but Santa Clara's local businesses and leaders recognize the impact of hosting such a high-profile event. Christine Lawson, CEO of Discover Santa Clara, noted that hotels in the area were at or close to maximum capacity, with average rate lifts of around $50 higher than usual due to the Beyoncé concert.

Levi's Stadium has recently seen a surge of popularity for big-name concerts. Just a few weeks prior, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour brought in substantial business and a significant boost to the local economy. Lawson stated that the city reached its highest occupancy and average daily rate levels so far this year during Swift's event. It is hoped that Beyoncé's visit will help maintain this momentum for the local economy. To further celebrate Beyoncé's presence in the city, local Black-owned bakery Luv's Brownies donated heart-shaped brownies for the occasion.

While accepting the proclamation on Beyoncé's behalf, Dr. Noel-Schure shared her thoughts on Beyoncé's vast contributions to the arts and society over nearly three decades of work. She mentioned the music icon's dedication to crafting memorable anthems that empower women and boost confidence.
