UPDATE: A man was left fighting for his life after being stabbed by his girlfriend in the American Canyon neighborhood yesterday. In the aftermath of this harrowing encounter, authorities have made an arrest, according to the American Canyon Police Department.
Genea Pereira, 32, is the woman allegedly responsible for the stabbing that occurred yesterday. Her wounded boyfriend sought help at a local Safeway, where he recounted his distressing tale to authorities. American Canyon police secured the area and got the support of California Highway Patrol (CHP) Air and the Napa Sheriff's Office to apprehend the suspect.
However, the search came up empty following a three-hour lockdown as the assailant remained elusive until the next day. On Tuesday evening, Napa Sheriff's Detectives finally arrested Genea Pereira and booked her into the Napa County Department of Corrections. Pereira has been charged with domestic violence and remains in custody, as stated in a police update.
