Solana Beach residents were alerted to scheduled night work for September 15th after an advisory was published on the City of Solana Beach website. The work, slated to take place between 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, will involve replacing the main electricity feeder cable going into the plaza shopping center on Lomas Santa Fe East of I-5.

During the night work, some businesses within the Vons Shopping center will experience a power outage as a result of the essential maintenance. The decision to carry out this work at night is to minimize disruptions to businesses that would be affected if it were to occur during regular operations.

Major work zones will be located 250 feet east of the traffic signal at the entrance to the shopping center on eastbound Lomas Santa Fe. In addition to this, the eastbound exit lane from the Plaza, along with the bike lane on Lomas Santa Fe Drive, will be temporarily taken by SDG&E during the procedure.

For any concerns or questions related to this planned night work, the advisory requests that residents reach out to the engineering department at (858) 720-2470.
