District Attorney Brooke Jenkins provided an extensive list of charges for both Jinks and Jones, who were accused of participating in a mass commercial burglary at a clothing retailer, alongside seven other co-conspirators. Following the reported burglary on September 21, the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) arrested the pair and quickly recovered $7,290 in stolen merchandise.
As District Attorney Jenkins noted in the San Francisco District Attorney's press release, "Brazen organized retail theft has become far too commonplace in San Francisco and is having a devastating impact on our retail community." It begs us to consider why our city has become a target for such criminal activity and what can be done to address the root causes.
