Yesterday night, the Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant in Meredith, New Hampshire, experienced a violent disruption, as a car plowed into the building, injuring two patrons and causing substantial damage. According to CBS News, the collision occurred just before 8:30 pm, and photos from the scene depicted a white SUV lodged into the front of the establishment.
The event left a 76-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman injured, with the older individual having to be hospitalized due to his sustained injuries. After finding the 51-year-old driver initially unresponsive, Meredith police arrested him on charges of driving under the influence, as reported by WMUR.
The Hart family has owned and operated the restaurant since 1954, and the sense of togetherness drove this community staple to share a message via Facebook: "We are all ok, thank goodness. There are no words when something like this happens except a feeling of gratefulness. Thank you to all the emergency professionals for their quick response and guidance, and to all our amazing staff and customers who quickly jumped in and helped each other out. A building can be rebuilt but no one can break our Hart's."
