The people of South End breathed a collective sigh of relief as 76-year-old Fernando Rocha was found after a search coordinated with the Boston Police Department. Yesterday, Hoodline Boston reported on BPD's search effort and the request for community assistance which helped the authorities locate the missing elderly man.
As reported by the Boston Police Department on September 5th, Fernando Rocha, a Cape Verdean male, was last seen around 5:30 PM on September 4th near 343 Massachusetts Avenue. His disappearance left the community puzzled and worried, given no known medical issues that could have contributed to his sudden vanishing.
In the light of Mr. Rocha's frequent use of the bus system, authorities were considering the possibility that he may have traveled towards Bowdoin Street and Cambridge on the day of his disappearance.
