Various sections of Huddart Park remain closed, creating difficulties for parkgoers, as staff work diligently to clear debris and repair damaged areas. This comes as a result of severe winter storms that continue to impact the park. According to a report from San Mateo County Parks, the ongoing closures include certain trails and recreation areas within the park.
As a critical recreational space, the park has faced a series of challenges, including ongoing trail closures and facilities that are without water. Among the trails that are still closed are sections of Kings Mountain Trail, Richards Road Trail, and Campground Road, amounting to a total of 1.1 miles of impassable terrain. In addition to these closures, the Toyon Campgrounds remain closed, further inconveniencing park users who may have been looking forward to their use of the beautiful natural amenities.
Visitors eager to enjoy the Werder Playground, near the Werder Picnic Shelter Area, are also finding their plans thwarted, as the space is currently closed for construction.
Park officials have been working tirelessly to restore the affected areas and to ensure that Huddart Park returns to its pre-storm state. While the park has been a hotspot for events and family outings, it is important that visitors are aware of the ongoing closures and potential disruptions.
