Chicagoans woke up today, to a significant drop in temperature compared to earlier this week. With mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 40s, autumn is firmly in place, as reported by NBC Chicago.
Today's temperatures to gradually climb to the mid 50s are expected under increasingly sunny conditions, before clouds roll in later in the day. Northwest winds, with gusts reaching up to 25 miles per hour, add a further chill to the air. By nightfall, skies are predicted to be cloudier, with temperatures reverting to the mid 40s.
Despite the chill, the weather conditions are generally favorable for participants in the upcoming Bank of America Chicago Marathon. However, a NBC Chicago report does suggest a slight risk of rain showers during Sunday morning and afternoon, aligning with the race timing.
