Daly City experienced a notable rise in crime during the week of October 16-22, 2023, with three robberies, three commercial burglaries, and five vehicle thefts.
The first robbery took place at Total Wine & More on Gellert Boulevard on October 16th, according to Nixle report. A duo sneaked bottles of alcohol, violently confronted an employee attempting to intervene, and managed to escape. The suspects, identified as Black males, stole an estimated $600 worth of alcohol. Consequently, the same day, a theft occurred in Nordstrom Rack, where unlike their counterparts, the assailants could not carry out a physical test but successfully absconded with around $300 in merchandise.
Moreover, on October 18th a robbery at a Walgreens on San Pedro Road manifested. The felons alluded to a firearm and stole nearly $985. However, a swift response from police led to the arrest of three suspects now facing felony charges.
Alongside robberies, the city to contend had an uptick in commercial burglaries. Unknown individuals breached two fitness centers, proceeding to shatter lockers and lift valuables like debit cards and cash.
In the same week, carjackers purloined five vehicles, varying from a 1991 Chevrolet Camaro to a 2016 Lexus IS200.
