San Francisco's famous Pineapple King bakery, renowned for delicious Hong Kong-style pineapple buns and traditional Chinese pastries, is slated to open its second branch in Fremont, East Bay today, as reported by SF Chronicle. This expansion aims to better serve East Bay's residents, who used to frequent San Francisco simply to enjoy Pineapple King's signature pastries.
Due to high demand for the bakery's warm pineapple buns—known as bolo bao—the new location offers an array of fillings like salted butter, custard and matcha mochi. Additional Chinese classic pastries such as egg tarts, mooncakes, and coconut-stuffed cocktail buns will feature on the menu as well. The Fremont branch will be a modest, takeout-only venue situated in a strip mall at 6827 Warm Springs Blvd, providing more details with SF Chronicle.
Initially, the newly opened East Bay branch will only accept in-person orders, with intentions to expand, offering online ordering and delivery options soon. The Pineapple King Bakery's official website recently announced its soft opening today, October 27, at Mission Square Plaza.
Apart from its renowned pineapple buns, Pineapple King also offers other sought-after pastries, including the Pudding Baguette, or 法式布丁包—a creme brulee pudding baked within a baguette which is one of the popular favorite pastry in Hong Kong as indicated on its website.
