Roberto Gamero was convicted by a San Francisco jury today, on charges including torture and domestic violence, stemming from his brutal abuse of his girlfriend over 18 months.
The victim's courageous testimony against aggressive cross-examination played a decisive role in ensuring accountability for Gamero according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.

This case highlights the importance of having resources and support systems for survivors, from emergency hotlines to long-term recovery programs.
However, the resources, such as the National Domestic Violence Hotline, WOMAN, Inc., Asian Women's Shelter, and La Casa De Las Madres, have provided significant support to victims of domestic violence, as noted in the District Attorney's Office's press release.
By raising public awareness and promoting discussions around domestic violence, we can help break down the stigma that typically prevents survivors from seeking help.
