Media Noche, a local favorite Cuban-Latin eatery, has reported it is closing its doors on October 28. This comes as the latest in a string of restaurant closures in the Mission District of San Francisco. Media Noche's owner, Jessie Barker, attributes the closure largely to the shutdown of their food truck, per Eater SF.
Over six years ago, Media Noche was opened during a period when the fast-casual dining scene was burgeoning in San Francisco. Their unique menu featured a variety of Cuban cuisine with a Miami-inspired flair, with offerings like Media Noche sandwiches, cubanos, empanadas, and picadillos.
Over the course of recent years, the San Francisco restaurant industry has encountered countless difficulties leading to multiple closures. Restaurants such as Ancora, Stonemill Matcha, and even the Michelin-starred Avery and the North Beach Restaurant have succumbed to these challenges, according to Eater SF.
To commemorate its journey, Media Noche will be hosting a farewell event on the final day of operation, featuring free snacks and drinks as a token of thanks to its patrons and the local community.
Those who wish to support Media Noche in its final days can pay a visit for one last taste, honoring the era when fast-casual dining concepts flourished in San Francisco's Mission District.
