Earlier today, a tragic event unfolded in Greater Grand Crossing, Chicago's South Side neighborhood. Travon D. Harris, a 29-year old man, was fatally shot, adding another name to the city's grim tally of gun violence victims, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Around 11:20 p.m., Harris stood on a sidewalk in the 7200 block of South University Avenue as a gray Nissan drove up. From the vehicle, unidentified individuals shot at Harris, striking him in the head and abdomen, as reported by Fox 32 Chicago. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Currently, no suspects have been arrested. The investigation, led by Area 1 detectives, is ongoing.
