The arrest of an 18-year-old male suspect, who was a juvenile during the alleged offense, was reported yesterday, November 13. The suspect was charged with the attempted murder of a 14-year-old girl. The incident happened on August 7 in the 8900 block of S. Cottage Grove according to the Chicago Police Department. Due to the suspect's juvenile status at the time of the crime, he is being tried as a juvenile.
He is charged quickly with one felony count of attempted murder (first degree) and two counts of issuance of a warrant. Today, his juvenile detention hearing was held at 1100 S. Hamilton.
