Chaos erupted on the streets of Milwaukee when a vehicle wanted for a homicide in Chicago slammed into a school bus. In a pursuit that turned catastrophic, Milwaukee police chased the suspect vehicle before it collided with the bus.
The ordeal unfolded just shy of the high noon sun, as the Milwaukee Police Department tailed the wanted car, a disastrous chase that would end with multiple injured and shaken witnesses, the Chicago Tribune reports. According to their account, the havoc reached its peak when the vehicle struck the school bus, which flipped into an adjacent cluster of automobiles.
The suspect, a 26-year-old man whose flight from justice was cut short after a brief foot pursuit, was apprehended by law enforcement, as confirmed by Milwaukee Police. Details surrounding the individual and their alleged involvement in the Chicago homicide remain sparse.
The suspect vehicle was carrying additional passengers, among them a fellow 26-year-old suffering "non-fatal" injuries and a 3-year-old suffered serious injuries, per The Canadian Press. Both were taken to the hospital, along with a 71-year-old school bus driver and a 30-year-old caught in the vehicular turmoil.
