
The evening of October 27 witnessed effective inter-agency collaboration when the Colma Police Department apprehended five suspects associated with an earlier armed robbery in East Palo Alto.
According to a Facebook post by the Colma Police Department, these arrests underscore the importance of seamless teamwork between different law enforcement agencies within San Mateo County.
A prompt automated license plate reader notification alerted Colma officers to a vehicle connected with East Palo Alto's armed robbery entering the jurisdiction. With the swift response, the officers located the vehicle and executed a high-risk felony stop, leading to the arrest of five suspects between ages 14 and 18, one of whom had a concealed loaded handgun.
Upon their arrest, the East Palo Alto Police Department assumed custody of the suspects and the investigation, showing the sharing not only of important information but also resources between two separate law enforcement entities.
