In an uplifting show of community service and goodwill, the Boston Police Department's officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) lent their time and effort to the Archdale Housing Projects Food Drive. The men and women in blue were seen swapping out handcuffs for handouts as they prepared and distributed bags of food to those in need.
The charitable event, captured on the department's own news website, highlighted the lighter side of law enforcement—one not often spotlighted amidst the blaring sirens and flashing lights.
According to the BPD News, the officers assigned to the Community Service Office were not just participating, but they were at the forefront of orchestrating the giveaway. The distribution took place at the project, which has become a beacon of hope, packed with food-stuffed bags ready to ease the pangs of hunger in the neighborhood.
