The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and Walgreens are coordinating their eighth annual holiday toy drive, calling on the public's generosity to help children in need. Considering the ongoing recovery efforts from the pandemic, the initiative aims to collect new, unwrapped toy donations. Commencing today, the toy drive will run until December 19 per the San Francisco Police Department.
The SFPD states that anyone who wishes to participate can drop off donations at over 40 Walgreens locations in San Francisco or at any district police station. Once gathered, the toys will be distributed to children in time for the holiday season. To demonstrate, in the previous year, nearly 6,000 toys were donated to this initiative at Walgreens stores throughout the city.
The kick-off for this holiday toy drive is set for noon today at the Walgreens location at 3601 California Street, with the campaign extending to all San Francisco Walgreens. Local community members and businesses are encouraged to get involved and show their support, recognizing the power of collective action in strengthening community bonds, especially during challenging times.
