According to KRON4, the incident occurred near Pier 90 on Amador Street, where the victim was spotted clinging to a beam within the wreckage. Despite the perilous conditions and debris, the rescue team managed to extract the victim with unyielding resolve.
While the city's infrastructure has been scrutinized for some time, it is unclear what caused the pier to collapse; however, ensuring public safety needs to be given more prominence in city planning and maintenance decisions.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the first responders, as mentioned by the San Francisco Fire Department, immediately initiated medical evaluations and ensured the victim's health was aptly addressed.
