San Francisco's Tenderloin District Daytime Stabbing Leads to Arrest: Suspect Charged with Homicide

On October 24, 2023, a person was stabbed in San Francisco's Tenderloin District. The assailant’s attack left one man critically injured. According to the official news release from the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), officers found the adult male victim at the corner of Eddy and Taylor Streets around 10:35 a.m. Despite the diligent efforts of police officers and medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries on October 28, 2023.

The General Work Detail of the SFPD followed up on the incident through a thorough investigation. In the wake of the victim's death, the SFPD Homicide Detail assumed control over the case. The officers circulated a crime bulletin featuring the suspect's image. It took nearly two weeks before an off-duty SFPD officer, on November 3, 2023, recognized the suspect, 38-year-old Ronnie Randle. The officer promptly apprehended Randle.

Randle now deals with a host of charges including homicide, possession of narcotics, and possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon. Even with Randle's arrest, the case is still under investigation, according to the SFPD's update. The SFPD requests that anyone having information related to the case make contact through the SFPD Tip Line or submit anonymous tips through a text message.
