On October 29, a man in distress alerted Weekend Day Shift officers in San Pablo, California, after spotting his brother's stolen Chevy being stripped by two individuals nearby. The police promptly arrived at the scene. However, the suspects fled, leading to a chase across various backyards and rooftops.
Despite the combined efforts of the Richmond PD and California Highway Patrol Air Support Division, the suspects managed to evade capture. Still, investigators recovered a backpack from the stolen vehicle containing burglary tools, a loaded stolen gun, bullets, a bulletproof vest, and one suspect's wallet, helping identify a 36-year-old man from Antioch on parole for related crimes.
Skipping forward to the early hours yesterday, Weekend Graveyard officers spot another stolen Chevy Suburban in the city. To attempt to apprehend the suspect, officers initiated a pursuit but later halted due to the suspect's hazardous driving. Meanwhile, the CHP Air Support tracked his movements from above "via their helicopter H-30", which led to the suspect crashing the stolen vehicle and fleeing into a nearby home per the San Pablo Police Department.
The suspect, upon hearing the approach of San Pablo K-9 Officer Riggs, swiftly surrendered. Notably, this was the same suspect that had evaded capture in the rooftop chase earlier. Additionally, officers discovered two more loaded stolen guns in the stolen vehicle. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail for multiple felonies.
