
Yesterday night, a 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting incident in Chicago Lawn's South Side neighborhood. He endured two gunshot injuries to the jaw, sparking renewed community concerns about youth being targeted in the cycle of violence according to Fox 32 Chicago.
The Chicago Police Department responded to a shooting report in the 6900 block of South Western at about 8:38 p.m. On arrival, they found the injured teenager and immediately transported him to Christ Hospital. His condition, although serious, was assessed as stable.
The victim could not provide more information about the incident due to the nature of his injuries. Area One detectives are currently investigating, with no suspects in custody at this time.
