The incident of Alexis Z. Ward's fatal shooting occurred on Crandon Avenue in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood on Sunday night. Having been shot multiple times, the 25-year-old woman was found lifeless on the scene as per the Chicago Sun-Times report. The Chicago Police Department is currently investigating the case, with no suspects identified yet.
Police officers were called to the scene around 11:25 p.m. earlier this week following a report of a person shot according to ABC7 Chicago. On arrival, they found Ward unresponsive with gun wounds.
Ward was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center but succumbed to her injuries. Her time of death was reported at 11:59 p.m. according to the Sun-Times.
