In what's being hailed as a vigilant intervention, two officers from the Union City Police Department have successfully seized an illegal firearm during a routine patrol. FTO Olson and Officer Griffin's late-night investigation into a suspicious car led to the discovery and arrest of a suspect, Union City PD reported on their Facebook page.
The patrolling duo encountered the vehicle on the 30073 block of Industrial Parkway, where they spotted narcotics in plain view and swiftly detained the occupant. It was during a meticulous search that the officers uncovered a dangerous addition—a loaded, self-manufactured, and unregistered semiautomatic pistol. The suspect, whose identity has been withheld, was subsequently ushered to jail to quickly face the full force of the law.
"It’s proactive investigations like these help make the streets safer. Great investigation by FTO Olson and Officer Griffin!" read the statement on the Union City PD's Facebook page.
