Boynton Beach Man Strikes Gold with $1M Florida Lottery Scratch-Off JackpotSource: Google Street View

A scratch-off ticket has just flipped the script for one South Florida man, who's now checking his bank account with a few more zeroes. Karl Vaudreuil from Boynton Beach hit the jackpot after purchasing a Billion Dollar Gold Rush Supreme scratch-off, local officials said this week.

Vaudreuil, 43, opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $880,000. He bought the golden ticket at a Gateway Shell gas station to the tune of $2,000 for selling the lucky piece of paper, Local10 reported.

The BILLION DOLLAR GOLD RUSH SUPREME game, which started in February 2021, boasts four gigantic top prizes of $15 million and includes 24 $1 million payouts, with the odds of winning something placed at a teasing 1-in-2.59.

According to the Florida Lottery news release, the scratch-off game seems to have more than a few fans. The local winner took his fortune home last week after visiting the lottery’s West Palm Beach office, sources at CBS12 confirmed.
