A Cupertino man's boozy blunder led to his arrest in Colma after police found him passed out in his sleek black Mercedes, officials said. The 29-year-old driver was cuffed for DUI early on a Sunday morning when officers discovered him unconscious at the wheel, the Colma Police Department reported.

The incident unfolded on December 3 at around 4:03 am, with the streets of Junipero Serra Boulevard pairing with the dead quiet of Serramonte Boulevard before officers were summoned to the scene, finding the driver, who seemed to have overindulged to the point of oblivion. When the authorities revived the man from his alcohol-induced slumber, they noted he was conscious but reeled from the obvious effects of his indulgence, with a pungent alcohol stench signaling his recent encounters.

According to the Colma Police Department, the police noted that "Upon contacting the driver, he was conscious and displayed the objective signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage."

The Cupertino resident, whose name was not released by the authorities, was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI and after being processed, he was handed over to the care of a sobering facility.
