The San Francisco Police Department has arrested a Daly City man in connection to a fatal shooting in the Mission District earlier this year. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Antonio Malik Rodgers-Alcala, was apprehended by officers of the Community Violence Reduction Team on Thursday, December 28, the SFPD announced.
Police officials say Rodgers-Alcala reportedly tried to flee quickly when officers located him on the 800 block of Schwerin Street, but he was soon caught. The arrest followed an investigation into the August 18 shooting on Harrison Street, where a victim succumbed to their injuries despite desperate attempts by emergency responders to save them.
Evidence related to the homicide was seized during a subsequent search of Rodgers-Alcala’s residence. He was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked on a no-bail warrant for violation of 187 PC, indicating a charge of murder.
Although an arrest has been made, the SFPD maintains that the investigation is still active. The department has encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
