South Florida is getting a taste of Broadway before the Big Apple even has a chance to sink its teeth in, thanks to Neil Goldberg's holiday spectacular, POMP, SNOW & CIRQUEumstance. Goldberg's creation, drawing on the success of both a storybook and film, is setting up camp at The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, ready to entertain families and fly tinsel-town enthusiasts to the highest of holiday spirits before its 2026 Broadway debut.
As reported by Local 10, Goldberg has transformed a whopping 25,000-square-foot area into what can only be termed as a Winter Wonderland on steroids, minus the snow but plus the bling. The production boasts 75 wigs, more than 200 costumes, and apparently an avalanche of rhinestones. The cast present a highly technical performance, supported by nearly 60 behind-the-scenes tech wizards—making sure everything twinkles, shimmers, and flies as it should.
The show centers around a trio of best friends with holiday-centric names, Pomp, Snow, and an unseen third, embarking on a journey at a secretive university designed to prep them for season's jollies. In an interview with Local 10, Goldberg said, "My goal is not just bringing families together of all ages, of all cultures to experience something like POMP, SNOW & CIRQUEumstance, but for people to forget all of their troubles and worries and bring joy and smiles and happiness at a time that is so well needed."
Shows run until December 30, with a variety of times to cater to even the most hectic holiday schedules. There are no shows on Christmas Day, because even showbiz folk need a break to unwrap some presents, but catch them on other days and prepare for an interactive experience that South Florida PBS guarantees will not disappoint. Tickets start at a reasonable 40 bucks, and children can even get their tiny hands on stuffed animal toys, as part of the interactive experience.
For further information on how to be part of the pre-Broadway buzz or if you just need a break from seasonal shopping, head on over to the South Florida PBS website and snag yourself a family holiday memory that might just become a new Yuletide tradition. After all, nothing says 'holiday cheer' quite like astonishing acrobatics, heartwarming harmonies, and a blizzard of glittering costumes.
