It was just another day for the Colma Police Department as they cracked down on a quartet of sticky-fingered ladies from San Francisco who tried to lift goods from a store on Junipero Serra Boulevard. The incident, which slipped into the local lore as part of Misdemeanor Monday, occurred last Friday at around 9:06 p.m., according to a report by the department.
Responding to a distress call from the beleaguered business, the police nabbed the female foursome as they boldly walked out of the store, all the merchandise in hand, without a receipt to show for it. The girls, two of them barely out of their teens at 19, another 18, and the youngest, a mere 17, were soon acquainted with the long arm of the law.
The Colma Police Department, in a statement posted on their Facebook page, declared, "Officers were advised four females were in the process of stealing merchandise and were about to exit the business. Officers arrived on scene and contacted all four females as they exited the store with the unpaid merchandise."
After being fingered by the store's loss prevention team, the women’s shopping spree took an unexpected turn as they were arrested and charged with petty theft and conspiracy to commit a crime. Pulled right back into the shop, the items valued at $457.33 found their way to their rightful shelves. The adults were slapped with citations and a court date, while the minor was handed over to her family, now facing the music at San Mateo County Juvenile Court.
