SFPD officers cuffed and booked 35-year-old local Shilo Mitchell for a chilling Bayview District homicide. According to the San Francisco Police Department, the arrest came months after the crime scene tape cordoned off a stretch of Quesada Ave. following the fatal shooting of an adult male victim on a Friday night of August 4.
Noting the resonance of gunfire at around 11:10 p.m., officers swarmed the scene to find the wounded man. The victim later faced his untimely demise at a local hospital, despite the fervent efforts of police, EMTs, and hospital staff, who labored in the hope of clawing his life back from the precipice. Since then, investigators have been grappling with leads until Mitchell emerged as a suspect through diligent police work, his shadow casting long over the neighborhood as the hunt for justice lasted months.
In a stroke of investigative initiative, the Northern Station officers patrolling the 1100 block of Fillmore Street on December 5 spotted Mitchell. In a swift motion, they snapped the cuffs around his wrists, delivering him to San Francisco County Jail, where he was booked for homicide without further incident.
