South Florida kicked off their Tuesday morning with temperatures hitting the low 50s before climbing to a comfortable low 70s later in the day. Despite the sunny disposition during the day, the north wind is at 11 to 13 mph, as detailed by CBS Miami.

The National Weather Service predicts that the clear skies will partially cloud over tonight, and with the north wind beefing up around 15 mph, it could have gusts hammering down as high as 20 mph. This temperamental pattern continues through the week, with Wednesday and Thursday expected to maintain highs in the low 70s while the Northeast wind grows increasingly fickle, taking it up a notch with gusts that could howl up to 23 mph by Wednesday night.

As for those setting sail or planning a beach day, caution is advised. A small craft advisory is in effect for the Atlantic waters through Thursday morning owing to rough conditions as a result of the gathering breeze, said CBS Miami, which also warns beachgoers of a moderate risk of rip currents.

This weekend, there was a modest warm-up with daytime temperatures creeping towards the upper 70s and nighttime lows settling in the low to mid-60s, providing a mild backdrop for those last-minute holiday preparations. While the sky could turn waterworks on for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, there was a 30 percent chance of showers hitting the forecast for December 25th according to the National Weather Service.

The broader eastern CONUS remains under the dominion of a dry air mass; however, regions in central and southern California brace for potential lightning flashes as per the forecast by Storm Prediction Center Norman OK with no severe thunderstorms expected.
