The mother of a 29-year-old man fatally shot outside of an Atlanta hookah lounge is still seeking answers three years after the tragedy. DeAndre Houston, who was also known as Padre, was killed in January 2021, but his case remains unsolved, Atlanta News First reported.
Kischa Houston, the victim's mother, has been waiting in anguish for his assailants to be apprehended.“My son was a 29-year-old flourishing young man, a college graduate, he loved Atlanta, he did not deserve this.” she told Atlnta News First.
The tragedy also prompted the closure of the Encore nightclub, situated near where Houston was murdered, following a series of incidents in the area. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, crime data analysis reveals that since the club's shutdown, crimes against persons in the vicinity have plummeted by 82%, although property crimes have seen an approximate 23% uptick.
Atlanta Police had previously circulated surveillance footage of two suspects linked to the case, but there have been no updates in months. "I know it’s not easy, but I know somebody knows something," Kischa Houston stated in an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta. Despite the family's effort to raise a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The killers remain at large.
