A routine traffic stop turned into a perilous pursuit Thursday night when a DUI suspect led Chamblee police on a high-speed chase, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision and serious injuries. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the chase began near Buford Highway at approximately 8:30 p.m. and culminated in a head-on crash on Shallowford Road, just north of Shallowford Park.
The unidentified driver, now charged with DUI, initiated the chase after allegedly refusing to cooperate with a police pull-over. In the frantic pursuit, the suspect's vehicle struck two cars before finally colliding head-on with another vehicle close to Beverly Hills Drive. As reported by Channel 2 Action News, the suspect is now racing against the odds in 'serious condition' at an area hospital.
