Encinitas Celebrates the Triumphant Reopening of Beloved Peace Pies CaféSource: Google Street View

Encinitas' favorite raw and vegan hot spot, Peace Pies, is back in business after a long-awaited return. The bohemian-style café, beloved for its raw, vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free dishes, celebrated its grand reopening this Friday, according to FOX 5 San Diego. The original Encinitas location was gutted by a fire in 2019, leaving customers longing for its unique and health-conscious menu.

The reopening was met with enthusiasm by the local crowd. "The Encinitas area is such a mecca of health that we are thrilled to be able to serve our community," Peace Pies crew member Ashley Disharoon shared with FOX 5. The establishment faced obstacles from permits to city planning, and even a pandemic, yet passion and persistence have borne fruit, as reflected by the café's art-adorned passion fruit plant inspired by the old patio's natural ambiance.

Owner JP Alfred is excited about the café's revival. "We cannot wait to celebrate with you, to hug you, to show you what we have done with your generous contributions and support," he said in a statement on Instagram. Alfred further emphasized the significance of community support, acknowledging that the journey back to opening day was a collaborative effort bolstered by the unwavering support of loyal customers.

Favorites like the Magical Mango Curry Wrap, the Mystical Mushroom Quesadilla, and Loving Lasagna are back on the menu, to the delight of health enthusiasts and foodies. With a nod to the daily specials based on the "chef-of-day’s choice," the menu promises variety alongside its classics. The new location is expected to offer the same high-quality, raw vegan experience that has captivated patrons for nearly 17 years.

Found at 133 Daphne St., the renovated café will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m daily, inviting old and new customers to partake in what has become a cherished community staple in the City of Encinitas.
