Charles Ryan, the former head honcho of Arizona's prison system, is on the docket for sentencing today after copping to charges about a wild standoff that had him playing shoot 'em up inside his own home and pointing his piece at cops. According to 12 News, Ryan is looking at probation and has to pony up $8,500 to cover the police's tab for the mess
Back in January last year, Ryan decided it was a good idea to let lead fly, which left him with a self-inflicted shot to the hand and a standoff that lasted longer than three hours. According to ABC15, turns out the guy was half in the bag on tequila, and when the cavalry arrived, he was talking sideways, giving grief to a negotiator.
When the police finally got Ryan to stop waving his gat around, they clapped him with a less-than-lethal round, which found a home in his hand during surgery. Before his standoff shindig kicked off, Ryan had a little accident firing his gun that sent him headfirst into a game of shrapnel dodgeball with his bathroom sink. "The projectile was found during surgery," the police reported, per 12 News.
