A former medical assistant at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston has been charged with video voyeurism after allegedly using iPhones to secretly record women in the restroom, police said. Jeremy Galindo Ciocon, 31, of Weston, was arrested following accusations that he surreptitiously filmed victims for his personal sexual gratification. According to an arrest affidavit, a woman discovered one of the phones to be actively recording while she was using the restroom on Friday.

Ciocon, who was employed in the hospital's urology department, is said to have used two iPhones for the illicit recordings. A bond court session on Saturday saw him pleading guilty to four counts of video voyeurism, and he has since managed to immediately bond out of jail. A spokesperson for Cleveland Clinic Florida indicated that Ciocon was removed from his role as soon as the hospital was notified of the allegations, according to NBC Miami.

"We are strongly committed to protecting the rights and safety of our patients, visitors and caregivers from any type of inappropriate behavior," the clinic said in a statement obtained by WSVN. "Once we were notified of the situation, this employee was immediately removed, and the authorities were contacted. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement's investigation and are also conducting our own internal review. We care deeply about patient and caregiver safety and any form of misconduct is not tolerated."

While Ciocon's attorney declined to extensively comment on the ongoing case when approached by NBC6, they mentioned being in the "fact-gathering stage" of defense. The hospital has also confirmed that they are conducting their own internal investigation to complement the authorities' efforts. Ciocon's quick release has caused concern among members of the community, questioning the enforcement of accountability in cases involving privacy violations within medical establishments.
