A violent altercation erupted at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on January 13, as a recently fired coffee shop employee engaged in a physical confrontation with her managers, which was caught on video and has since gone viral. According to a report by Fox 5 Atlanta, the employee identified as Shacoria Elly, got embroiled in a heated argument over espresso shots at Harvest & Grounds within Concourse D.
The altercation, shared to the Clown World account, saw Elly aggressively demanding her belongings and screaming "Give me my stuff!", as depicted in the footage. Accidentally spilling a fruit cup on the floor while in an escalating conflict with the managers, the situation quickly deteriorated. A video accompanying the New York Post's coverage shows Elly being pushed away from the store's counter by a manager in a red polo shirt.
The confrontation escalated as Elly returned to swiftly grab a nearby stool, only to have it wrestled from her grip by one of the managers. As described by Fox 5 Atlanta, the ex-employee then attempted to strike the managers with various objects, including a metal pan, which created a loud noise upon impact with the manager's back, before she was finally subdued.
One of the videos shows Elly's apparent resignation to leave but, in a sudden twist, she charges back into the shop, leaping over the counter to retrieve her items. Despite being quickly restrained by one of the managers again, with her arms still free, it allowed her attempt to hit the man on the head with a metal pan. As she runs from the store, tripping and falling to the ground, the manager in the red shirt can be heard asking the gathering crowd if they are calling the police.
By the time authorities arrived at the scene, Elly had fled the area. Based on the police report, she had already been fired and had her airport badge confiscated by security. While Elly was terminated from her position, there has been no indication from the reports that she is facing criminal charges at this stage.
