A teacher at Dream City Church in Glendale has been taken into custody, facing allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor, reports from local authorities indicate. Nathaniel Pineda, who is employed by the church, was arrested following accusations of engaging in sexual abuse, sexual conduct with a minor, and the solicitation of such conduct through luring efforts.
Information from officials remained scant, but FOX 10 Phoenix reported the charges against Pineda. The local police are alleged to have expeditiously acted on the matter, arresting Pineda, but details regarding the identity of the minor or the precise nature of the interactions are not being released at present. "Due to the sensitivity of this case, we will not confirm if the minor Mr. Pineda was involved with was a student or not," a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix read.
The Glendale community is presently grappling with the allegations, as members had held Pineda in a position of trust. Dream City Church has yet to publicly address the arrest or its potential implications for its congregation.
Making matters more concerning is the lack of additional insight into the investigation; as of now, no further clarifications are forthcoming. 12News notes that updates will be provided as information becomes available.
