According to the Atlanta Police Department's official statement, the victim was walking in the area when an unidentified vehicle drove past him. It was only after hearing the sound of gunfire slicing through the night, he realized he had been hit. The officers who were first to arrive at the scene delivered critical first aid to the man before Grady EMS took over, rushing him to the hospital for urgent treatment.
