A 56-year-old Texas man found himself in handcuffs after allegedly stalking international pop sensation Shakira outside her Miami Beach residence, authorities reported. Daniel John Valtier of El Paso was nabbed on Monday following an unsettling chain of social media activity and unsolicited deliveries to the singer's home from late December into the new year.

Valtier's obsession appeared to have escalated over time, punctuated by claims he was married to Shakira and shared a family with the star, according to police documents. Despite repetitive warnings from Shakira's team, he continued his approach, sending items ranging from bottles of wine and chocolate to toys directly to her address, as WSVN reported.

Miami Beach police acted on a tip from Shakira's security, who spotted a troubling post suggesting Valtier was in Florida and intended to pay a personal visit to the 'Hips Don't Lie' singer's home. The fact that the alleged stalker had journeyed from Texas to Florida heightened concerns, leading to his arrest as soon as he showed up at Shakira's property via taxi.

Investigators confirmed that Valtier had no personal ties to Shakira nor any of her family members. The man is now facing stalking charges and did not appear in bail court following the arrest, as outlined by WSVN.
