
An afternoon drive turned tragic near Rochester, Minnesota, as a single-vehicle crash claimed at least one life, authorities reported. The incident, involving an SUV, occurred on Friday around 4:30 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Highway 52 at County Road 11 in Pine Island, roughly a 17-mile drive northwest of Rochester, according to CBS News.
The vehicle, a Honda CR-V, carried an elderly couple from Red Wing, an 85-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman. For reasons yet to be determined, the car deviated from its highway course, and disastrously rolled.
Rescue teams including the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Zumbrota Police Department, and Pine Island Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, as reported by KTTC.
More information is expected to be released Saturday evening.
