Atlantans, grab your umbrellas and brace for a series of wet and possibly stormy days ahead, as the latest weather forecasts predict showers and thunderstorms enveloping the city through the weekend and into next week. According to the National Weather Service, a partly sunny sky with a high near 60 degrees was the warm reprieve for the Peach State capital on Thursday.
However, evening forecasts suggest a dip in temperature to a low around 46 degrees with a calming southeast wind situating itself at around 5 mph tonight given that Friday could see a modest increase in wind intensity and a 20 percent chance of showers post the 4pm mark, clouds shrouding the metropolitan area will barely relent to sunnier climes as they keep guard over a high near 65 degrees throughout the day. The weekend's mien seems no less grim with an 80 percent chance of showers trailing the Saturday afternoon front, a high near 68 is expected during the day while at night, showers could intensify into thunderstorms after 1 am, and a low around 55 degrees could have residents reaching for their thicker duvets.
According to a report from the National Weather Service, Sunday will greet Atlantans with more rain and thunderstorms, with temperatures cresting near 63 during the day and settling at a low near 57 at night with precipitation chances at a conclusive 100 percent. The damp conditions extend their ambit into Monday, which shapes the day's fortunes with likely showers and possible thunderstorms before 1 pm; thereafter, the likelihood of more indecisive weather lingers into the afternoon with chances of showers and thunderstorms leveling at a 70 percent probability, whilst a mostly cloudy aura looms behind a high near 65 degrees.
The forecast, however, does tease a respite with a decline in rainfall probability to 30 percent by Monday night and a low swooping to around 38 degrees, this dip marks the fledgling hope for clearer skies as Tuesday expects to usher in a sunny outlook with a high cresting near 52 degrees, and a mostly clear night with a low near 35 degrees dips possibly encouraging a good night's rest while Wednesday, it seems, will offer more of the same high-spirit weather with sunny conditions and temperatures climbing to a comfortable 57 degrees, as per the National Weather Service's latest update.
