Local high school students with their sights set on badges and uniforms are getting a leg up on law enforcement careers with the BCSO Explorers program, providing them a chance to learn the ropes straight from the source. Earlier this month, members of the BCSO Explorers, received hands-on training in how to conduct a felony traffic stop - an essential skill for those looking to don the blue.
The program is designed to give high school-aged students a comprehensive look into the life of a patrol deputy, including the day-to-day responsibilities that come with the badge. This initiative helps to nurture the next generation of law enforcement officials, who already have a burning passion for justice and community service. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook the announcement, saying, "If you would like to register your child or know of any high school-aged students interested in a potential law enforcement career, we encourage you to contact the BCSO SCORE Unit to help find your nearest post by emailing [email protected].
