The search intensifies for a 25-year-old Tamarac man, Matthew Robinson, who police say has been missing since early January. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Robinson was last seen around 7 a.m. on January 4 in the 7400 block of North University Drive. Local 10 News reports that the young man is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs around 130 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He was spotted wearing a white shirt and black pants at the time he vanished.
Family members have expressed urgent concern, telling authorities Robinson grapples with mental illness and requires medication to properly manage it. Adding to the urgency is the fact Robinson is also without his left arm, potentially making him even more vulnerable. The Sheriff's office is asking anyone who might have seen him or knows his whereabouts to immediately come forward. Anyone with information should call BSO Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274 or dial the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357), according to an appeal by WSVN.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit has taken the lead in this ongoing case, deploying officers and resources to locate Robinson as swiftly as possible. In their effort to engage the community in the search, detectives have distributed Robinson's description and the last known clothing he was seen wearing, hoping that locals might aid in the investigation. The Sheriff's Office continues to emphasize the critical nature of the public's assistance to help swiftly return Robinson to safety.
As time presses on, the concern is ever-growing for Robinson’s wellbeing. The Sheriff’s Office stresses the importance of community vigilance and awareness, given that Matthew has now been missing for over a month. Detectives are urging residents to be on the lookout and to immediately report any sightings or information that could lead to locate Robinson, whom they deem as someone who may be particularly at risk due to his mental health condition and physical disability. To offer information, the public should not hesitate to reach out to law enforcement and contribute to bringing this man home to safety.
