Chicago is set to bask in a spree of sunny days, as forecasters predict a climb in temperatures alongside windy conditions over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, today's skies will remain clear with a high near 47, and gusty winds from the west-northwest shifting south-southwest in the morning. This evening, Chicagoans can expect a dip in temperatures with a chilling low around 32, and continuing south-southwest winds, forecast.weather.gov reports.
As the weekend unfolds, residents should prepare for an unseasonably warm weather pattern. Friday will bring more sunshine, hitting a high of 51, while Saturday and Sunday are predicted to be even warmer—temperatures may soar to the low 60s and upper 60s respectively. However, the National Weather Service warns that there is an "Elevated Fire Weather Risk" due to gusty southerly winds combined with low afternoon relative humidity, particularly in areas that recently missed out on rainfall.
Early next week, Chicago faces a shift in weather patterns as chances of showers and thunderstorms enter the forecast Monday afternoon. The fluctuating weather is anticipated to continue through Wednesday, with the potential for more rainfall amidst partly sunny skies. Temperatures are anticipated to hover in the mid to high 40s during the early part of the week, indicating a mild cooldown from the weekend's warmth.
Today will be much warmer, sunny, and breezy with highs in the mid to upper 40s. More clouds and perhaps a light shower south of Kankakee River Friday, but that’ll be followed by a sunny and unseasonably warm weekend! pic.twitter.com/SsZ2bMElxv

Boaters should exercise caution as there is a likelihood of "Hazardous conditions for small craft," especially east of Gary early this morning, extending through the weekend into Monday, states the National Weather Service. On the terrestrial front, the official NWS Chicago X account shared that "Today will be much warmer, sunny, and breezy," setting the stage for what should be a sunny and pleasant close to the week for the windy city.
