In a collaborative crackdown, the Colma Police Department, along with the San Bruno and Daly City police departments, brought a swift end to a recent kidnapping saga. The key event unfolded on a busy street last Saturday night when the Colma officers were alerted to a felony vehicle pinpointed by the Flock Safety ALPR system.
According to the Colma Police Department's Facebook page, the vehicle had been involved in an earlier kidnapping in a neighboring jurisdiction. A swift response ensued, culminating in the drive-thru of a business at the 500 block of Serramonte Blvd. Here, a high-risk felony stop was performed with officers from the San Bruno Police Department and the Daly City Police Department.
The orchestrated maneuver led to the detention of a 25-year-old San Francisco male who was the sole occupant of the kidnapped-linked vehicle and was apprehended without incident. In a concerning twist, officers later discovered a loaded handgun concealed within the vehicle.
The suspect was handed over to the neighboring agency, who took charge of the ongoing investigation. The Colma Police Department, in its public statement, extended a note of thanks to the San Bruno Police Department and Daly City Police Department for their key assistance in the operation. Importantly, the victim of the kidnapping incident has been reported safe and was able to contact authorities following the ordeal.
