
Davie, Florida is setting the stage for local entrepreneurs to up their game with a slew of free business workshops, courtesy of a partnership struck between the Town of Davie and the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The series, dubbed "Getting Back to Business," is designed to furnish business owners with the know-how on government contracting, alongside a toolkit of SBDC's resources for bootstrapping businesses in Davie, as announced on the town's website.
Getting down to brass tacks at the Davie Pine Island Multipurpose Center, the workshops will kick off on March 5 with a session on snagging local agency contracts, before digging into the rigmarole of federal contracts on March 18, and then wrapping up April 4 with the nuts and bolts of transforming business ideas into profitable pursuits. Attendees are urged to reserve their spot by booking ahead of time and those that can't make it in person, don't sweat it; the town has cooked up alternatives like email Q&A submissions and recordings on the Town’s YouTube Channel.
Andrea JohnBaptiste, Davie's very own SBDC ace with a track record in everything from banking to government contracts, will be spearheading these sessions that bring to the table her extensive expertise. The FAU SBDC has built a reputation on providing head-to-toe consulting services at no cost, aiming to stoke the flames of growth for all manner of businesses, and this initiative in Davie is poised to be another feather in their cap.
