The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a call to arms for citizens in two separate cities to come forward with any information that might help apprehend bank robbery suspects. In Hollywood, Florida, the FBI is on the hunt for a masked individual who executed a bank heist just before the clock struck 9:45 a.m. Friday at the Truist Bank located at 1800 S. Young Circle, as reported by Local 10 News. On the other side of the country, in La Jolla, California, the agency is looking to identify another suspected bank robber, a man believed to be in his late 50s or early 60s, who made off with cash from the Pacific Western Bank branch on Executive Drive, Feb. 1, as per details shared by NBC San Diego.
In the Hollywood heist, the FBI divulged that the suspect, though partially obscured by a face mask hanging around his chin, was clearly caught on surveillance footage during the act of the robbery. After demanding money from a bank employee, the amount of which remains undisclosed, the suspect fled the scene. Authorities, not giving up any leads on how much the thief stole, are urging anyone with insights to dial the FBI at 754-703-2000.
Meanwhile, across the nation in La Jolla, the FBI described the second suspect as a roughly 6-foot-tall man last seen dressed in dark pants, a green windbreaker, reading glasses, and a dark hat. This suspect employed a subtler method, handing a demand note to the teller, upon which he was handed an undisclosed sum. The man then nonchalantly exited the bank and disappeared on foot into the area surrounding 4300 block of Executive Drive. The incident took place shortly before 9:30 a.m. on the first of February.
The FBI San Diego has appealed for public assistance in the La Jolla case, much like their counterparts in Florida, the suspect's description has been disseminated in hopes that eyewitness accounts might lead to an arrest. Individuals with information regarding this particular episode are asked to pick up the phone and contact FBI San Diego at 858-320-1800. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and the authorities assure that every piece of information could be crucial in apprehending the suspects and impeding future criminal acts.
